Da\u00ed o nome de mel\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Os frutos s\u00e3o pequenos em tamanho, n\u00e3o mais do que 15-20 cent\u00edmetros de di\u00e2metro e raramente pesam mais do que 1 quilo.<\/p>\n<p>A casca \u00e9 castanho-amarelado ou laranja-claro.  Coberto com malha convexa.  Estriado ou liso, dependendo da variedade.<\/p>\n<p>A cor da carne varia do amarelo alaranjado ao salm\u00e3o.
