This is a plant belonging to the Einegolovnik genus and the Umbrella family. Erythematosus flat-leaved is a perennial plant with a straight root and a high 30 cm stem, the upper part of which is branched. The plant is colored blue. The leaves of the erythematosus are rather tough; teeth can be seen on their edges. Basal leaves are large, usually about 15 cm in diameter. They can be either oval or ovoid. The leaves are on petioles. The upper leaves are always sessile, they usually have about 3 or 5 lobes.
The flower petals are often blue, but can also be pale blue. They are collected in small inflorescences with a diameter of 2 cm. Sepals are lanceolate. The leaves that wrap them are equal in length to the flower heads. The fruits of Einegolovnik are 3 mm two-seedlings, ripening in August.
Where grows
Einegmat can be found in central Russia, in the Caucasus and Siberia, in the North of Asia. The plant loves dry fields and sandy soils. It also settles in the steppes.
Chemical composition
This plant contains a huge amount of malic acid and oxalic acid. The plant contains zinc and potassium, tannins and flavonoids, saponins. Erythematosus also contains ascorbic acid with fructose and polysaccharides.
Properties
Due to the high content of saponins, Einegolovnik eliminates fungal diseases and inflammation. This herb is also an excellent pain reliever. Einehead is excellent for insomnia, relaxes and eliminates stress. Einehead is actively used for colds, it is a good expectorant. In veterinary medicine
Erythematosus flat-leaved heals wounds well, therefore it can be used in veterinary medicine. It heals wounds, relieves swelling and stops inflammation at snake bites.
Blank
The leaves and roots of the plant are perfect for creating a decoction. Long 20 cm shoots should be cut off during flowering. They are cut and dried in a shady and cool place. The leaf layer should not be more than 3 cm thick when dried. Dried herb is stored in fabric bags for about 1-2 years.
The roots are stored longer – about 3 years. They are dug up in spring or autumn, dried in a dryer at a temperature of 50 degrees.
Reproduction
This perennial multiplies with seeds. This plant is usually planted as seedlings. If there is this plant in the garden, self-seeding also takes place. When you have free time, you should visit the vegetable garden and start planting seeds. You don’t need to sow them deeply – just dig a small hole. The distance between the bushes should not be less than 50 cm.
If the choice fell on seedlings, you need to sow in the spring – somewhere in the middle of March. Eringium can grow in almost any soil, but it doesn’t need to be dense or uncultivated. Erythematosus prefers sandy or rocky soil, which may not be very nutritious, but with fairly good drainage.
When sowing, it is not necessary to deepen the plant, but it is important to plant each seed in an individual package, because Einegolovnik does not like transplanting. After that, future bushes must be covered with glass. Seedlings should be grown at a temperature of about 20 ° C. Water the plant once a week. This greenhouse is removed when sprouts appear and they are planted in open ground without diving.
Another breeding method is by dividing the bushes. They should be dug out in mid-May, when the air temperature is + 18-19 ° C and it is far from frost. At the same time, you need to pull them out carefully and leave a lot of soil – Einegolovnik has thin roots. It is worth dividing the plant into large parts, so that they quickly take root.
Care
Flat-leaved erythematosus is an unpretentious plant that does not tolerate excess moisture even in the hottest weather. It adapts well not only to drought, but also to cold weather. Pests with diseases are not afraid of him either. Einegolovnik does not need fertilizers, because if you feed it, the plant can stop blooming and become less frost-resistant. Neighborhood with different weeds also interferes with Einegolovnik, preventing the bushes from growing. To prevent the formation of weeds, it is worth mulching the soil with peat.
This perennial will look good against the background of stone chips. Mulching will also replace loosening the soil, because without mulch, a crust will form, which will need to be removed every month. Another important procedure that preserves the beauty of the plant is pruning. After the first flowering, the plant should be heavily pruned so that it will bloom brighter the next time. But, if you don’t want to cut Enegolovnik right after flowering, you should do it in early spring.
